Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-22
Effective date: October 21, 2026 · Operator: EasyAI Labs (“SummaryNote”, “we”) · Contact: contact@summarynote.app
These terms apply to the SummaryNote Android app and summarynote.app (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
SummaryNote turns recordings you make in the app, audio and video files, documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown), photos, public web articles, and pasted text into AI-generated transcripts and notes. It also lets you ask questions about your notes, create study sets, and export or share notes. It does not join online meetings and does not download videos from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. You must be at least 16 years old, keep your email accurate, keep your sign-in secure, and you are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Recording other people
You are responsible for following the laws that apply to recording conversations, lectures, and calls where you are. Many places require the consent of everyone being recorded. Obtain any consent you need before you record or upload a recording of other people. The app can show a consent reminder before every recording.
4. Your content
- You keep all rights to what you add and to the notes generated from it (“Your Content”).
- You give us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display Your Content only to operate the service for you. This includes sending it to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy.
- You must have the right to add what you add. Do not add unlawful or infringing content, or other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.
- A share link lets anyone who has it read that note until you stop sharing. You are responsible for who you share links with.
- We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
5. AI output
Transcripts and notes are generated automatically and can contain errors or omissions, including misheard words, names, and numbers. Check important details against the original before relying on them. Notes are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
6. Plans, limits, and billing
- Free includes 180 audio minutes, 15 non-audio imports, and 200 pages per month. Pro includes 1,800 audio minutes, 200 non-audio imports, and 2,000 pages per month. Monthly allowances reset in UTC. Current limits are shown on the pricing page and in the app before processing.
- Free processes only the first 10 min of each audio or video file, and only those minutes count toward your allowance. Pro has no per-file cap beyond technical limits.
- Free includes copying notes, TXT and Markdown export, share links, original downloads, flashcards CSV, and account data export. PDF, DOCX, SRT, and VTT export require Pro.
- Questions: Free 20 per month; Pro has no monthly cap. Study sets (flashcards, quizzes, mind maps): Free 5 per month; Pro has no monthly cap. Unlimited questions and study sets on Pro are subject to fair use: daily limits protect the service from automated or abusive use. Both plans allow 20 attempts per quiz.
- Translation: Free 2 per month; Pro 30 per month. Summary regeneration: Free 10 per month; Pro 100 per month; both limited to 5 per note per day. Speaker re-transcription: 2 per note per month on both plans, and 10 per month in total on Pro.
- Processing allowance is reserved when a job starts and returned if the job fails because of a system error. When an allowance runs out, the affected processing pauses until it resets. There are no automatic overage charges.
- Android purchases use Google Play Billing, with Google Play as the merchant, and Google Play’s terms also apply. Prices are shown by the store, include applicable tax, and vary by region.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel. If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. Cancel any time in the Google Play subscription center, or through “Manage subscription” in the app. You keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Restore purchases is always available in the app.
- Cancelling or downgrading never removes access to your existing notes, originals, or transcripts.
- Purchases are not offered on the website. Pro is bought in the SummaryNote Android app through Google Play.
Refunds
Android refunds follow Google Play’s refund process. We may also refund your account’s first purchase within 14 days on request. Contact us at contact@summarynote.app from the email address on your account. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. Your mandatory consumer rights still apply.
7. Service providers
We use third-party service providers for hosting, storage, AI processing, analytics, notifications, sign-in, payments, and email to operate SummaryNote. Our subscription processor handles purchase and subscription identifiers and your account ID. The Privacy Policy describes how they handle your data.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the service for unlawful content or activity, to harm or harass others, to upload malware, to gain unauthorized access, to reverse engineer or copy the service, to scrape it, to send automated bulk uploads, or to get around plan limits. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
9. Our service and brand
The app, website, software, and the SummaryNote name and logo belong to EasyAI Labs. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.
10. Data portability and deletion
You can export your notes and data, download originals, and permanently delete your account in the app (Settings › Account), or follow the steps at summarynote.app/delete-account. Deletion removes files, notes, derived data, and login identity from the live service immediately. Residual copies can persist in routine infrastructure backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features and limits may change. We will announce material changes to these terms by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue to use the service after that, the changes apply.
12. Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- The service is provided “as is” and “as available”.
- Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated notes.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
13. Termination
You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts for a material breach of these terms, with notice where practical. Sections 4, 5, 9, 12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply where you live, to the extent mandatory law requires, and otherwise by generally applicable principles of contract law. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence or your right to bring a claim before the courts of that country.
